Interview with Linda and Jim McKissack
The Southeast Region was honored to have Linda and Jim McKissack join us recently for RSTLM. Linda and Jim were kind enough to share their words of wisdom with us.
Q: As leaders in the Keller Williams family, what would you do differently if you were new to our company?
A: Linda (L)- “Start taking advantage of Keller Williams opportunities and figure out how to time block. Understand who KW is and what opportunities there are and take advantage.”
Jim (J)- “It took us four years to plug into KW and understand the profit model, training and leadership meetings. Take as many classes as you can and make sure to take Gary Keller’s training classes.”
Q: Having built a 7th Level Business Model, how would you direct someone to launch and development their own?
A: L– “Master the Recruit Select classes and get around to other people who leverage themselves in KW.”
J– “Remember it’s a function of the number of listings, go get listings and be listing focused.”
Q: What’s the best real estate tip you can give to our leaders and associates?
A: L- “Doesn’t matter what the market does as long as the agent keeps a lead generation focus. They will do well in any type of market.”
J- “Stay focused on the top 20% agents, figure out how you can serve those people.”
Q: What’s the most important thing you have learned from Gary Keller?
A: L -“I learned so many things from Gary Keller and if I have to just say one, I would say that Gary taught me the importance of having Wealth Determiners.”
J- “To care about people. That no one succeeds alone and as an individual, people have to learn to succeed through other people to reach the highest level of success.”
Q: What is your best leadership tip?
A:L-”Talent only leaves you when they feel that there is no more opportunity for them.”
J- “Learn to listen, and for high D people, listening is a learned skill. Truly listen and slow down! Agents need to list to last in this business, which is a lead generation business.”
