HISTORY, HABITS, AND HOORAH! 🌟

Grab that espresso, friend—because today, we’re diving into the mindset, the moves, and the magic behind achieving something legendary. And no, I’m not talking about baseball’s grand slam…

I’m talking about THE Grand Slam of golf—and the incredible story of someone who just made history.

🏆 A Once-in-a-Generation Moment

This past Sunday, we witnessed something truly extraordinary: Rory McIlroy finally completed his journey to golf’s most elite achievement by winning The Masters in Augusta, Georgia.

With that win, Rory joined a group so exclusive, it only had five members—until now. He became the 6th person in history to earn the Career Grand Slam, which means he’s won all four major golf championships:

  • The Masters
  • The PGA Championship
  • The U.S. Open
  • The British Open

This kind of win isn’t just about skill—it’s about heart, grit, and serious inner work. And that’s what we’re unpacking today.

🔍 Let’s Break It Down: History. Habits. Hoorah.

1. History

Every success story has a beginning—and it’s rarely smooth. Behind every achievement, there’s a history of challenges, patterns, and past programming. Rory didn’t get here overnight. He had to face failures, self-doubt, and years of coming up short.

But like every great leader, he didn’t run from his past—he learned from it. He used it to recognize what was helping him and what was holding him back. You can do the same.

2. Habits

As James Clear says in Atomic Habits: “You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.”

Rory knew this. He examined his daily routines, made hard changes, and built the kind of habits that could carry him all the way to a green jacket. Every leader I’ve ever admired says the same: Success is a habit.

So…what habits are YOU building right now that will take you to your own Grand Slam moment?

3. Hoorah!

Here’s the best part—when you align your history and habits, you earn your hoorah. The celebration. The win. The emotional release that says, “I did it.”

For Rory, it took 11 years. Even on the final day, he made two major mistakes that could’ve cost him everything. But he didn’t give up. He believed. He trusted the process and stayed focused through it all.

In a post-win interview, he said:

“Even after the mistakes, I still believed I could win.”

And that’s the question for you today:

Two of the most often asked questions I get are: How do I do a newsletter in Command? And, Where do I start? And while I believe most agents are asking about this from a technical side, I believe the technical part is only a small piece of a bigger puzzle.

So, what are newsletters good for? A well-curated newsletter is a great way to come from contribution and both supply education and entertainment to your contacts so that when they think about real estate, they are more likely to think about YOU.

How do I create a top-tier newsletter for my contacts and past clients?

  1. Know your target audience, their life stage, likes and dislikes, interests, and anything notable or important to them. Create an “avatar” (or a Timothy as I call it) of that person from your past clients or ideal clients that you intend to serve these messages.
  2. Write your newsletter to serve that target audience. Make it conversational as if you’re talking to an old friend. Include content they WANT not just spray and pray real estate information. Be authentic. Tell good stories. Give them data. Be funny. Mix this up in such a way it matches your avatar.
  3. Add calls to action on every email you send out. Ask them questions. Invite them to engage. Give them a reason to look for your emails.
  4. Use Command design’s email editor to create the layout (If you need extra graphics work you can always use platforms like Canva to create your graphics that you will then upload into the editor). HTML emails are allowed in designs, so you can use other platforms to create if you are more comfortable with one.
  5. Use email campaigns in Command to create a list of who will receive these emails, then to schedule them.
  6. est and tune the results. Engagement is the most important part of newsletters. This comes by way to clicks and replies, not just opens. Also know, that just because someone did not interact with a newsletter, it does not mean the newsletter is ineffective. If they are seeing your name in their email box, that is a mental touch either way.
  7. Be consistent with how often you produce this newsletter.
